A fund guide was to be conceived, designed and developed for Privé Technologies. The core of this browser-based app is a catalogue of questions that the user has to answer at the beginning. On the basis of this catalogue, a suitable portfolio proposal for the investment project and an advisory protocol are generated for the user. In this project, I was responsible for the concept, design, presentation and operation on mobile devices.
The world of funds can be very complicated for newcomers. To make this entry easier, an application should be created that helps new users to create their own portfolio. In the best case scenario, this portfolio proposal then leads to the conclusion of a contract.
The user can create a customised portfolio proposal and compare it with another. As the target group may not have any knowledge in this area, it was important to make it as easy as possible to request the required information. The user is guided step-by-step through various subject areas and then receives a personalised portfolio proposal. The clear separation between editing, comparing and analysing is particularly important so that the complex topic remains simple even for those unfamiliar with the subject.
The structure of the site has been visualised in the form of this sitemap. Not all menu items are active when the application is first used. These areas are only activated after the user has completed the questionnaire and the risk level has been determined. At the end, the user receives a protocol to download so that he can understand which decisions have been made.
A user flow was created so that a logical sequence of the app can be guaranteed. This helps to uncover illogical and missing steps in the process. The user flow was also helpful in the discussion with the customer and when handing over to development. In addition to the useful points for the creation process, the user flow helps with orientation and gives me a sense of security that I won't forget any screens or queries.
The layout was initially optimised for use on a tablet, but should also work smoothly on smartphones. Here it was particularly important to ensure that the user was not overwhelmed with too much information at once. A clear presentation for mobile phones should be ensured with the same amount of information. It is not possible to simply place the information one below the other on every screen.
For example, the portfolio comparison had to be rethought. The user can compare the key figures and the funds of the portfolio proposals and switch to the portfolio overviews, but is not overwhelmed by too many values and graphs.
All important information is summarised in the portfolio and there are several analysis tools to take a close look at the portfolio and observe how it is developing. This enables the user to find out whether the portfolio really matches their ideas and expectations.
